Biomes
A biome is often defined by abiotic factors like climate, relief, geology, soils, and vegetation. Biomes are NOT ecosystems; but they can look like a big ecosystem. Plants and animals in any biomes have special adaptations that make it possible for them to exist. There are five major biomes:
Desert: Hot and dry deserts, coastal, and cold deserts.
Aquatic: Freshwater(rivers, streams, ponds, lakes) and marine(oceans, coral reefs)
Forest: Tropical rainforest, temperate and borreal forests
Grassland: Savanna grasslands and temperate grasslands
Tundra: Arctic tundra and Alpine tundra.
